With the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Red Hat Certification track also gets updated introduced. A new certification is introduced that will replace the old RHCT (Red Hat Certified Technician Certification) with the new RHCSA EX200 (Red Hat Certified System Administrator).
Those who are already certified by the Red Hat on Enterprise Linux 5 are also advice to upgrade their certification with the new and improved Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Since Red Hat have the policy to active the certification for only 3 years, after that, one have to gain the certification with the latest edition or the current edition (in specific field) of Enterprise Linux.
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) is a separate exam and one has to do it before registering for the Red Hat Certified System Engineer RHCE. Since it in on in the bundle (RHCT+RHCE) as it is before, that if someone gets RHCE he/she also gets the RHCT.
A fee of the RHCSA is a bit confusing to me. On the past edition EL5 the fees of RHCE (RHCT+RHCE) is about INR 14,000/- in India. Now for EL6 the RHCSA will cost about 400$ as they say in the Red Hat’s US website and 400$ for the RHCE, since I cannot figure out the fees on the Red Hat’s India website.
Red Hat Certified System Administrator also known as EX200 is a certification which lies between the old RHCT and RHCE.
